The north of Navarra is full of narrow canyons or sickles (Foz) created as a result of the erosion caused by the passage of a river. Some of them are difficult to access and others can be seen very simply as is the case ofviewpoint of the Foz de Arbayún. A viewpoint located at a considerable height and where we have a privileged view just 15 meters from the car.

After enjoying a light hiking route through the Foz de Lumbier (Navarra), a canyon of more than 3 kilometers in length and that can be traveled on foot without complications, we take the Roved Road until you reach the Foz de Arbayún.

Once past Romanzado we follow the road for 5 kilometers until we turn right onto NA-2160, marking the Foz de Arbayún. Approximately 1 kilometer later we will arrive at the viewpoint, where there is space for about 20 vehicles or so.

In our case we arrived on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., there were still two hours of light and the parking lot was almost empty. We got out of the car, took the camera and headed to the viewpoint. Located in an unbeatable position, the panoramic view of the Foz is really spectacular.

A canyon of about 6 kilometers in length and with 100 meter high walls furrowed by the Salazar River. In addition, not only are the views wonderful, the largest colony of the nest nests in the canyon. Griffon Vultures of allNavarre. However, it is a place where it is sometimes possible to observe the scarce bones and even golden eagles.
