In most cases, Alta is a city where you arrive, visit the famous auroras cathedral and begins his journey to deeper territories within the Lapland Norway. But Alta has interesting things and one of them is a hiking trail with great views. Moreover, if we land at its airport we will see it in passing since many flights pass over the mountain of Komsa 2 minutes before landing.

Route to the top of Komsa

The route begins at the beginning of Komsahøyden Street, where there is a school and a small parking lot where we can park the car. Behind the school comes a track that is usually frequented by walkers or cross-country skiers and is just the way to go.

The path is easy to follow because of the many steps we can find. This does not mean that the route is overcrowded, quite the opposite. It is simply a sign that everyone follows the same path.

The zig zag is very continuous and only at the end, where we are about to see the radio antenna/telephony It is when we will face a really steep slope and where the wind can make an appearance. The snow is usually in correct conditions and it is rare to need crampons despite the low temperatures. Still you have to be careful.
